We went to a study tour to Mirya, Ratnagiri for settlement study. The duration of study tour was one week. After reaching there we were divided into five groups: 1)Economy 2)Settlement 3)Housing 4)Cultural Objects 5)Construction.

Every group was given a task. I was in the Cultural Objects group so our task was to study about the culture, daily routines, festivals etc. So we went into the villages, talked with people, collected some information and made some drawings with the help of those information. Every group was also told to collect gossips and stories.

Our main objective was to study how the culture, economy and land affect the architectural structure there and vice versa.

After the study tour ,the next step was to compile everyone's drawing into a single one. We started compiling everyone's drawing and the information we collected.

After the compiled drawing we were asked to make a model of a shrine for the sea god. The shrine wasn't supposed to be just a worshipping space, it could much more than that. I designed a boat because I wanted people to experience sea in a different way where you are not able to view the sea but can feel it as you are surrounded by it. Also I tried to play with light. This phase went on for a week.

In the next phase we were asked to draw a detailed instruction for the construction of the shrine. We were given the section for three types of wood and were supposed to draw based on that.
